About 2 hours into the game, leaving Mt. Rikuroa with Noa…and WORK ERR 2 code shows on upper left screen for the remainder of the duration, any clue as to if this is just a bad ROM?

Created an account to comment here. Exact same thing just happened to me, right after defeating the rock golem and going through the cave tunnel to the top of the mountain, this appeared.
Must be the rom? I hope you were able to continue, I’m going to try to not let it bother me.
There’s a potential fix to odd issues such as this one. Try restarting the game via the player interface after saving to the memory card (in game save). This sometimes fixes problems.
If that doesn’t work, upload your latest .state game save file and I’ll start troubleshooting some things from my end.
