Legend of Dragoon won't advance to disc 2

I have watched the Final Fantasy IX video before it gets recommended to me.

So I am at the “change discs” screen. I press the disc in the watercrest menu to change discs, select 2. I download the save as prompted.

Then it has me reload the webpage. I do as such. Then it says, in poor spelling, “autoload save statet failed, load manually”

Easy enough, select most recent save, aaaand

stuck on launching after “load.”

What gives?
